White River Fly Shops CV2 Fly Reels
All White River Fly Shops items are actually what you might consider the Bass Pro Shop house brand equipment. Most of the White River items are very respectable in quality and workmanship, and they tend to be priced in the mid-range. This reel, for example, currently retails for $120 to $130, depending on the size you choose. We tested the medium-sized reel, which seems to be most appropriate for most Missouri trout fishing destinations. This reel surprised us, however. It's made from aluminum alloy, so it's very lightweight yet also very sturdy, and it's action and drag are downright slick. If this reel had a different brand name on it, it would sell for at least double was Bass Pro is charging for it, and you'd be happy to own it. You may question our sincerity, but we can't come up with a complaint on this one. You can purchase the reel from Bass Pro Shop by clicking the picture below. NO, we do not earn a commission on the sale. (Grade A)

CV2 Fly Reel

The following comment was submitted by Miles McClain of Lebanon on 11/11/05

I wanted to add to the review of the White River CV2 fly reel. I recently purchaced this reel and am very impressed with it. It is very light and the drag is as smooth as silk. I did a lot of shopping around before buying the CV2, and I am sure that I got the most for my money. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that the emblem on the side fell off. Great reel for all anglers.

Thanks for backing us up, Miles.
