OUR STUDENTS

Our Students have included teenagers as well as octogenarians and every age in between. We've had folks from all over the country, and from every background you can imagine. Everyone is welcome. HOWEVER...

These classes are very intense in regard to instruction and overall quantity and quality of information given. For that reason, we strongly recommend a minimum age limit of 13 years old. Truth is, though, that you know your kids (or grandkids) better than anyone. So, if you have a pre-teen youngster that REALLY wants to attend, and you think he or she can handle it, we could probably be talked into bending the rules a bit. Just let us know ahead of time, so we can talk about it.

The next question we are often asked is: "How hard is this? Can I really learn to fly fish?" The answer is almost certainly "YES!"

Of course, some of our students seem to have it in their blood, while it takes others a bit more effort to really get the hang of it. But if you are able to pat your head and rub your tummy simultaneously, then you can certainly cast a fly rod. And if you can tie a normal fisherman's knot, then we can teach you to tie all the special knots you'll need to know. And if your eyesight is good enough to read a magazine, then you'll be able to see what you're doing on the river. And if you have an average reaction time or better, then you'll be able to set the hook and catch some fish. It's really not rocket science.

Don't worry! You can do it! And we're here to help.
